An advent calendar to value local and responsible e-commerce.

Merry Christmas French SMEs!

Amazon remains a very practical platform to do our Christmas shopping and avoid the crowds on weekends (especially now) but is it fair to our small French traders? To bridge the gap, Secretary of State for Digital, Mounir Mahjoubi, had the idea to create an advent calendar of companies: French SMEs will be honored this year on the website of the secretariat of State to remember that buying online and local is possible!

This is to encourage eco-friendly, short circuit purchases that are made in France and are obviously suitable for gifts under the tree: toys, food, clothing and accessories, sports equipment or technology, beauty products or unusual experiences (become a tree owner with EcoTree, for example).

Mounir Mahjoubi wants to promote proximity: “Across France, companies innovate, offer affordable products that we can be proud of and that can be gifts for the holidays at the end of the yea. We want to give the SME a chance to benefit from digital technology.”

Every day in December, responsible French SMEs making e-commerce accessible are rewarded and put forward on the social networks of the government, because we do not have to shy in the face of giants with dubious taxation practices such as Amazon, whose origin of products is sometimes unidentifiable.

Today, when you are out of inspiration you go on international platforms that unfortunately have very little impact on our territories. At Christmas, e-commerce sales of our SMEs are gifts that have an impact on our jobs, our territories and our loved ones“, said Secretary of State Digital in a statement. He hopes to expose on the site up to 150 VSEs and SMEs by the end of the year holidays. All those already present have responded to a call for expressions of interest (AMI) on a voluntary basis.

It’s not too late to be referenced or create value on both sides of the production chain: a pleasure to manufacture, and a joy to receive!
